This Article Sucks

2013 season

[edit]

I have included a section regarding her 2013 season and a main article: 2013 Victoria Azarenka tennis season

I have started off with an introduction and a brief table (similar to 2012 Roger Federer tennis season). This should be updated regularly, as I won't dedicate a lot of my time into doing this. I will be around though contributing to other sports related articles in 2013.

What is her playing style?

[edit]

Surely such a high profile player should have a section on this? — Preceding unsigned comment added by 87.115.87.152 (talk) 21:15, 22 March 2013 (UTC)[reply]

The new playing style section is absolutely awful. "She uses groundstrokes to move around the ball" well so does every other tennis player! "She used to focus on good ball striking" what the hell is that? There was nothing wrong with the old description. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 37.152.227.70 (talk) 10:23, 26 April 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Orphaned references in Victoria Azarenka

[edit]

I check pages listed in Category:Pages with incorrect ref formatting to try to fix reference errors. One of the things I do is look for content for orphaned references in wikilinked articles. I have found content for some of Victoria Azarenka's orphans, the problem is that I found more than one version. I can't determine which (if any) is correct for this article, so I am asking for a sentient editor to look it over and copy the correct ref content into this article.

Reference named "ReferenceA":

  • From Sloane Stephens: {{ITF profile}} template using deprecated numeric ID.
  • From Australian Open: From 1941 through 1945, no Australian Championships were held because of World War II
  • From Slovenia: "About Slovenia - Culture of Slovenia". Culture.si. Retrieved 2 June 2012.
  • From Ho Chi Minh City: "Tong Cuc Thong Ke". Gso.gov.vn. Retrieved 2013-04-22.

  • From Daria Gavrilova: Victoria Azarenka at the International Tennis Federation – Junior profile
  • From Belgium: BuG 159 – Bericht uit het Gewisse – 7 mei 2012. npdata.be (7 May 2012).

I apologize if any of the above are effectively identical; I am just a simple computer program, so I can't determine whether minor differences are significant or not. AnomieBOT 12:04, 28 September 2013 (UTC)[reply]

equipment section is missing

[edit]

For a world number 1 player to have no equipment section is something that should be remedied. Wikipedia should have a list of racquets (and ideally strings) used by players when they were ranked number 1. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 24.33.93.239 (talk) 05:00, 5 June 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Rivalries

[edit]

I"m new here and I don't want to edit anything without talking about it first, but does she actually have a "rivalry" with Serena Williams? Serena has a 17-3 lead on her h2h. Is there a more accurate way to describe their competition?--TrueToCamp73 (talk) 21:51, 7 September 2015 (UTC)[reply]

It's funny that you bring that up because the same thing was brought up on Serena's page. I personally agree with you but it seems to be a well written section that explores Azarenka's personal fight to conquer the best. You're right though, the word rivalry seems to be a bit out of place. But I don't think it does too much of a disservice.
